About Nate

Nate

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Nate was first introduced to the medium of photography through his high school photography teacher, Byron Baldwin. Through Mr. Baldwin's photography class, he was taught that in order to create great art, one must surround oneself with great art. In class, they were presented with masterpieces like "Citizen Kane" and "Casablanca", as well as the films from Alfred Hitchcock to independent director Jim Jarmusch.

Nate graduated from Appalachian State University in the mountains of North Carolina gaining dual degrees, a BS in Technical Photography and a BFA in Graphic Design. He set off from North Carolina to the Pacific Northwest to work with the digital advertising agency Razorfish in Portland. He worked for over three years there as a designer (and unofficial house photographer), then left to work as a freelance photographer and art director.

In order to keep a fresh perspective on life and visionary arts, Nate spends as much of time possible traveling around the globe. He has spent generous amounts of time on four continents wandering on empty side streets with camera in hand. One never knows the whereabouts of Nate or what work he may be completing.
